WHO: Silvana x Taste of Harlem

WHAT: The Visual Exhibition and Presentation Department in FIT partnered with Taste of Harlem Tours to design holiday windows for 7 storefronts on Frederick Douglass Blvd, celebrating the Harlem Renaissance with creative window displays on a low budget.

Silvana is a neighborhood gem: coffee shop by day and entertainment venue by night frequented by locals and tourists alike. To highlight Harlem’s musical roots and evoke the jazz age, we created vignettes that brought to life the Duke Ellington Band, Harlem Chorus Girls and the Lindy Hop. These were designed, fabricated and installed by our team.

WHY: To promote Harlem small businesses during the holidays.
